Elaine is a Clinical Psychologist with 18+ years of experience working in counselling and mental health settings. She has specialist interests in complex trauma and perinatal and infant mental health. Elaine is passionate about supporting women in pregnancy and the postpartum as they navigate the transition to motherhood. She brings an attachment and trauma informed lens to her work and draws on a variety of evidence based therapeutic modalities including Schema Therapy, EMDR, CBT, DBT and ACT.
Elaine recognises the importance of supporting women with their emotional and psychological well-being, and their developing relationship with their infant, as they adjust to motherhood. She has extensive experience working with clients who have experienced trauma in childhood and recognises the additional challenges that may emerge during the perinatal period. Elaine can assist with perinatal depression and anxiety, phobias (including fear of childbirth), birth trauma, perinatal loss, difficulties with attachment/bonding, as well as complex trauma presentations.
