About Radiance
Radiance Network South West Inc. is the only regional West Australian, perinatal mental health and wellbeing community organisation with a lived-experience team.
We support the wellbeing of vulnerable families experiencing mental health distress during their perinatal timeframe (conception to 2 years of their child’s life).
All our services are peer-led, removing significant barriers, and are non-clinical. Through ongoing connection and feedback, we deliver support based on the mums and dads identified needs.
Values
Inclusiveness — We are non-judgemental, non-discriminatory and accepting of all people.
Respect — We will treat everyone with respect and recognise each individual for his/her own unique strengths. We treat others with the highest degree of dignity and understanding.
Holistic — Means that we are interested in engaging with and developing the whole person in all ways.
Compassion — We have a deep awareness and understanding of the needs and complexities of each individual. We want to make a difference to those that need it most.
Choice — We will support the individual’s right to choose so that they feel heard and supported every step of the way.
Trust — We recognise that trust is a key element of the success of all relationships in the network.

Vision
To connect and create a supportive community that enhances parental emotional wellbeing, strengthens families, and nurtures community relationships.
Mission
We recognise the vulnerabilities and challenges of pregnancy and early parenthood and offer a safe space to support your emotional wellbeing.
Strategic Key Focus Areas
People – We provide peer-led, evidence based, face-to-face support.
Advocacy – We speak up for vulnerable families and improve community awareness about perinatal mental health.
Sustainability – By creating and building upon opportunities for the existence and growth of Radiance.
Leadership – Through providing stability and by being accountable and transparent.
Structure
The Radiance organisation is responsible to a community Management Committee with a broad base professional membership and, as with the organisation’s professional peer employees, many have lived experiences.
Radiance employees are required to have a minimal qualification of Certificate IV in community mental health or a similar qualification. Professional experience in the field and a lived experience is highly recommended. Radiance employees are all part-time.
Radiance is fortunate to have a pool of over volunteers supporting the organisation in all five tiers of service delivery. Many of these people are retired midwives, community health nurses and or people with lived experiences.
Groups are facilitated from community donated spaces and the majority of funds received are directed into delivering the five tiers of service supports. Nomad Accounting are responsible for all Radiance accounts and auditing.
